About the Author

Janet Lawler (janetlawler.com) is an award-winning author of fiction and nonfiction children’s books. Her work has been translated into several languages, including Spanish, Japanese, and Hebrew. She is the author of If Kisses Were Colors, Snowzilla, Fright School, Kindergarten Hat, Walrus Song, and many others. 

Holly Clifton-Brown (hollycliftonbrown.com) combines traditional painting techniques and mixed media married with digital collage techniques to create a playful and tactile visual language. All of her illustrations are individually hand-painted using gouache, coloring pencils, crayons, and felt-tip pens using only the wizardry of Photoshop for compiling her images together. She is the illustrator of You Are Always Loved, Where Are You, Blue?, Stella Brings the Family, The Flower Girl Wore Celery, and many others.
