About the Author

Kim Russell is an award-winning performance artist and writer. Her work has been focused in three areas: 1)Researching the impact felt by an adult who suffers the loss of a parent. 2)Researching works of historical importance to African American's. 3)Presenting her research to audiences of all ages through theatrical performances. Russell has written of the experience losing her mother before she was two years old and getting to know her mother through letters 40 years later. The result is called Tuskegee Love Letters-- a one-act play, which is performed in regional theaters across the country and sold in book form via Amazon.com. Russell has performed hundreds of times at colleges, schools, and festivals in her one-woman show on the life of Sojourner Truth. Her performances have taken her to South Africa and to the George W. Bush White House. Russell lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. She holds a BA degree and a MBA.
