About the Author

Rebecca Jo Lillis was born in Winchester, Virginia. In 1965, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, where she received extensive training in Scripture and theology. She graduated from the College of St. Rose in Albany, New York, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. In 1973, she left the convent and taught middle school language arts in the Winchester Public Schools. After 16 years, she left teaching to pursue careers in construction and manufacturing. Now retired, an animal-lover and environmentalist, she enjoys writing, art and caring for the animals on her farm in Frederick County, Virginia.
