Description

Here are five stories that bring the reader to new places: from the surprising tranquility of homelessness to the hard realities of betrayal and confinement. Maggie Wolff Peterson's more than three decades in newspaper journalism combine with an artist's eye to produce literary fiction of precise detail and true storytelling.

About the Author

After more than 30 years in journalism, Maggie Wolff Peterson began developing her voice in fiction. During the past 30 years, her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Newsweek and Womens' Day magazines and The New York Times. Her essay, "Sledding at Twilight," has been reprinted widely and in 2008, was selected from more than 10,000 essays for anthologizing in a best-of compilation by the publishers of the Chicken Soup book series. The discipline she applies to telling true stories is the foundation of her literary characters, place and narrative arc. Some of these stories were first published by the literary journals, Five Quarterly and WhiskeyPaper.
