2Fish: (a poetry book)
Description
Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo has developed and refined a method of emoting through writing.
2Fish is a collection of intimate poems (and a few short stories) written by Chilombo from adolescence to adulthood, in no particular order. The book details Chilombo's thoughts in their most raw and honest form taken directly from a collection of notebooks she has kept since age 12.
Praise for 2Fish: (a poetry book)
"Jhené Aiko is transforming her pain into poetry."
— People
"Her poetry book, 2Fish, will serve as a healing tool not only for herself but for others."
— The Source
"The entire project is a brave effort by Aiko that will undoubtedly become a source of comfort for those who are looking to share their own personal journeys. 'Writing poetry has always been a form of therapy for me and has helped me get through difficult situations. When no one else understands, out journals can understand,' Aiko said."
— Complex
"Her poetry reads like unfiltered diary entries, like when you had a crush in school but that person never has the slightest clue. There’s talk of getting plastic surgery, and feeling like she’s never enough for anyone or anything. The 29 year-old also fixates on those pubescent inchoate teenage feelings of inferiority. Nonetheless, it’s a collective sentiment even the most beautiful exhibit."
