About the Author

Cheryl Sturm is a cofounder and vice president of R. Crusoe & Son, which creates unusual cultural journeys around the world. She used what she learned from her MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management—and many other life experiences at home and abroad—to help build a successful company. The daughter of an Army major, Cheryl was born in Berlin, Germany, raised in Wisconsin, and lives in Chicago. She began her career as a television reporter in Wisconsin, but a professional detour happily lead her to international travel. 100 First Words for Little CEOs is Cheryl's first book with Familius. Her inspirations are her nieces, nephews, and godchildren, and she looks forward to sharing her insights about the world with other thoughtful and curious children.

Kyle Kershner has loved drawing since he was a tot. He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in sequential art and spends his days doing what he loves most: illustrating children's books and making kid-friendly art.

Praise for 100 First Words for Little CEOs

"100 First Words for Little CEOs will engage even the tiniest tycoon-to-be with words and drawings that highlight many key business words and topics. This book is so much fun to read. The fact that it's educational is a wonderful bonus. Cheryl's creativity and passion are pure and off-the-charts. I think it is a must-read for all families!"
-Devi Vallabhaneni, Founder of MBA IQ, author of What's Your MBA Iq?: A Manager's Career Development Tool and former Admissions Board Member of Harvard Business School

"Whether we realize it or not, we all spend our lives selling. Even if we're not sales professionals, we're promoting ideas, developing projects and asking for help, persuading others to our ways of thinking... 100 First Words for Little CEOs is a great beginning for the littlest go-getters to start learning how to communicate and lead, and those are the primary building blocks of any professional and personal success. This book also engages the loving adults who read to the children in their lives. Cheryl put her own Kellogg MBA to work as she helped found the top international travel firm, R. Crusoe Son. Now all those lessons learned are coming full circles as she shares them with business leaders to be".
—Craig Wortmann, Clinical Professor of Innovation Entrepreneurship and Founder Executive Director of the Kellogg Sales Institute, Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University; CEO, Sales Engine Inc; Author, What's Your Story?; and Operating Partner, Pritzker Group Venture Capital

"As a 32-year-owner of The Book Stall at Chestnut Court, I know that it's important for children's books to delight both the child and its adult reader. 100 First Words for Little CEOs is a very fun book for babies and toddlers to learn the business lingo that is in everyone's future. This book is Cheryl's first and—having seen a sneak peek of other projects—it's the first of many wonderful books to come!"
