About the Author

Susana Gonçalves is a Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra, Portugal, and Director of the Centre for the Study and Advancement of Pedagogy in Higher Education (CINEP). Her published works include Art and Intercultural Dialogue (edited with S. Majhanovich, 2016), The Challenges of Diversity and Intercultural Encounters (edited with M. Carpenter, 2013) and Intercultural Policies and Education (2011). She is also an amateur visual artist and photographer. Suzanne Majhanovich is Professor Emerita/Adjunct Research Professor in the Faculty of Education at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. She is the past Chair of the WCCES Standing Committee for Publications and the former editor of the journal Canadian and International Education. She is the author of numerous articles and books, and most recently has co-edited a special issue of the International Review of Education journal, entitled 'Language Learning to Support Active Social Inclusion: Issues and Challenges for Lifelong Learning' (2017).
