Description

The book serves as a guide to the area and as an attractive souvenir. It describes local natural history, the geology that gave rise to the gold and scheelite mining industries, and outlines the town's history. Two chapters are devoted to detailed descriptions of walks around Arrowtown's historic buildings and in the tussock-covered hills and gullies north of the town. The book is illustrated with numerous historical and contemporary photographs, as well as maps.
