Book Signing: Dan Oates- Hanging Rock Rebel

The experiences of Lt. John Blue begin at the very onset of the Civil War, May of 1861, and span the length of America’s greatest conflict on her home soil. The reader will relive the travels of Lt. Blue from Charlottesville, VA, to the Battle of Gettysburg, the famous West Virginia Campaign of 1863, along with harrowing escapes, and one rescue by the famous McNeill’s Rangers. His story ends with his captivity and the time he spends in four separate Confederate prisons. While many soldiers claim to have “rode with Stonewall”, the account in this book will leave little doubt that Blue, while assigned as a courier, watched the Battle of Cedar Mountain with the legendary “Stonewall” Jackson.  This is a perfect bound paperback book.  337 pages with a name and regimental index.
